Mercola Blog

Dr. Joseph Mercola's blog is a great roundup of all wholistic health related news on the web. His whole philosophy is that eating healthy foods rather than all of the processed stuff will keep you healthy. He also points out how a lot of what is considered health care today is actually dangerous.

He does have a religious slant to things, which would normally scare me off, but his perspective is well-supported by a lot of research out there. I would still check out everything he says from other unbiased, non-commercial sources (he sells stuff on the site) before taking any recommended actions that are anything more than just eating healthy food, which is always a good idea.

Purple Pill Anyone?

Using Nexium, Pepcid and Prilosec? Apparently, pheumonia is more common for those that do.

Another reason to drink tea. Apparently, it inhibits memory loss. Tea also has some great antioxidant effect and compounds that stimulate the immune system.

I prefer black tea myself, as it is lower in fluoride. Either way, it's a good idea to brush one's teeth after having your tea, as it can stain your teeth.

A Hero Falls

Christopher Reeves has passed away. I will always remember him for the incredible struggle he undertook and the passion that he brought to every aspect of his life. He truly cared about others and about making things better.

Blogger let me post this from the SMS client on my phone!

Stretch With Me is now a blog site

Well, I had these elaborate plans to post all of this stuff on stretchwithme.com about my various activities and opinions. But the plans don't seem to be going anywhere, so I've decided to start a blog instead. This way I can just type something, press a button, and it gets out there.

The purpose of this blog is to let the reader get to know me a bit and to promote the whole personal development ideal (that's the stretching part).

I got the idea for the domain name after taking a few improvisational acting workshops, which is all about stretching your capabilities to accept what is offered and to express and act upon what your brain creates if you let it.

I'm not very good at it yet, but I know if I stick with it, I can keep stretching myself.
