More Thoughts on the Power of Now

The Power of Now is about quieting the conditioned mind, which is obsessed with time. The future, the past and staying on what others think your schedule ought to be.

The conditioned mind is not you. You are not that voice in your head that keeps you up late at night thinking about what happened to you or worrying about whether you'll "make it".

All of this diverted focus takes a toll on your work and your decisions. You can't make your best decisions listening to that voice. That voice is not you. Its just echos of distortion from the nuns, the marketeers, the hucksters and the misguided. Many people are dedicated full time to twisting your thinking to their imagined advantage.

Quiet that baloney down. Meditation is one way, but quieting the conditioned mind all the time will open up resources currently caught up in useless thinking about things that don't matter Now.

The Power of Now is a great book on how to do this.

You are enough right now. You are essentially good, competant to fill all your needs. You don't need to motivate or cajole yourself into doing something. Just free your real self to focus on this moment.

As you do that, you'll also find that things you've been grasping for don't even matter to the real you. And that's where the peace begins.

Good thing I came across this entry. I've been worrying all day on where the hell will I get inspiration for my designs. I've to design two 40-page digital wedding albums of couples I've never met.

One's due tomorrow. I wish I had actually read that book. But I get the gist. Wish me luck.

One's due tomorrow, the other one on the 20th. I wish I had actually read that book. But I get the gist. Wish me luck.
